For the same Crude slate the Cloud point will typically correalte well with the 90% or 95% distillation point. The 90% point can often be inferred from pressure, temperature and some measure of the Liquid and Vapor flows in that section of the tower.
When the Crude slate changes, the Cloud Point can change for a constant 90% point. Sometimes the Cloud Point will change a lot.
If you run a limited amount of different Crude Slates, you may be able to detect which Crude you are running from various other messurements, but it is difficult to get this to work reliably.
