I believe Profit Viewer uses OPC communication.
OPC accross different domains can be hard to get to work. Look at the Matrikon Website for some papers describing all the pitfalls.
One thing that sometimes work is to have an account with the same username and password on the two machines on sperate domains.
To experiment with OPC, I prefer the free Prosys OPC Client:
