AUSTIN, Texas - January 8, 2003 - Performance optimization software leader Pavilion
Technologies, Inc. today announced the acquisition of the software and related
intellectual property assets of BusinessThreads, Inc., an Austin-based business
process management solutions firm. Financial terms of the acquisition have not

expand Pavilion’s real-time enterprise performance management solutions.

In addition to the business acquisition, BusinessThreads key principal, David
Bolene, has joined Pavilion’s staff. Bolene was the former acting-CEO,
CTO and co-founder of BusinessThreads and was the original architect of BusinessThreads’
technology framework, leading the development team in building the company’s
business model execution engine. Bolene has more than 20 years of business and
software expertise, including management positions with MBA Technologies and
MCI Telecommunications. Bolene will work on the integration of the two companies’
technologies and developing new solutions for various markets.

operated from 1998 to 2002.
