Hyperion Participates in more than 20 OTS Simulation projects with Invensys during 2005

Watford UK, 1 st February 2006. Hyperion Systems Engineering Ltd, which provides high quality custom made solutions and services to process industries worldwide, has announced that it has completed more than 20 Operator Training Systems (OTS) simulation projects with Invensys during 2005.

Hyperion has deployed its large team of highly skilled simulation resource, to help Invensys complete a wide range of OTS projects throughout the world, as part of the Hyperion / Invensys partnership. These OTS projects range from utility power production, to oil refineries, LNG terminals and other oil and gas projects. The results of the past year show that Hyperion now represents one of the leading services companies for Operator Training Systems.

Dr. Symeon Kassianides, CEO of Hyperion, said “There is a clear demonstration of the strength of the partnership with Invensys, which has contributed to the growing success of Hyperion in the marketplace for OTS and Dynamic Simulation projects in the Oil and Gas, Chemical and Power industries. Hyperion continues to grow and develop its resource base and skills, to meet the demand of these and other simulation projects ”

About the Hyperion / Invensys partnership

The Hyperion / Invensys partnership enables Invensys to draw upon Hyperion's highly experienced simulation engineers to supplement its own staff and provide a true global execution capability. In addition, Hyperion will standardize on DYNSIM technology for all its future operator training simulator business. The agreement also allows Hyperion to resell the Invensys technology and to develop and grow new markets for OTS solutions based on Invensys technology.

About Operator Training Systems

Operator Training Simulators are detailed, high fidelity, real-time simulation systems that are custom-built to match the dynamic behavior of single or multiple plant units and their associated control systems. An Operator Training System may be used throughout the plant lifecycle to train operating crews, resulting in fewer operating errors and quicker and safer startups and shutdowns, improve plant reliability due to improved response to abnormal situations, optimize throughput and product quality, and provide the basis for evaluation of control strategies.
